If you thought sweat-proofing your hair in the humid weather meant piling 'em all in a top-knot, here's a stylish respite. Unicorn braids are the latest cool on the hairstyling scene. Cornrows woven with strands of coloured fabric hair or actual bleached and coloured hair twisted into cool braids, fashionistas are digging this trend hard and we can't wait to try it out ourslves.

Singer Alicia Keys is the latest entrant in to the unicorn braid circuit when she took to Instagram to debut her orange and fuschia do, complete with her gorgeous no-makeup look. Her stylist behind the do, Marcia Hamilton, likened the hair to a 'sorbet'. Well, what better than sorbet coloured hair in this sticky hot weather? Take a dekko:

On the desi front, former Roadie and VJ, Bani J rocked the pastel box braids much before it became cool. The OG of style wore her real hair in a gorgeous platinum blonde and pastel mauve look, and we can't even.

And, if fabric hair or bleaching your hair is a bit too much for you, you can always go the Shruti Haasan way to jazz up your braids. The actor took her regular French braid to a whole new level but adding colourful yarn to the mix.
