Priyanka Chopra has been ticking all style boxes these days. She owns the international red carpet with her stylish gigs and even reps #youcantsitwithus vibes with her front row besties like Sarah Jessica Parker. In fact, she did just that at the recent New York Fashion Week. But she made a huge style boo boo and we couldn't but speak up about it. She wore fur to the Prabal Gurung fashion show! Mic drop, not in a good way.
While all our homegrown designers and stylists are swearing by sustainable fashion and promoting them on and off the runways, we came across Pee Cee's outfit that seemed very unlikely. Priyanka, spotted cheering ace designer Prabal Gurung from the front row, walked in wearing a fur coat. Ouch.
The shock factor came from the actor's outfit that was accessorised with the fur jacket and leather boots. While everybody is all praises for the outfit she wore at the fashion event, we are taken aback a little with a question: why fur, Pee Cee, why?
Does that mean she is bringing the fur back in fashion or is she unaware that it actually causes tremendous suffering to animals? Even veteran designers like Tommy Hilfiger, Vivienne Westwood and Stella McCartney have taken a stand against it. Back home, in an interview to us earlier, Anita Dongre had specifically told us that she hates fur and animal skin leather. "I hope they become the most uncool and unfashionable things to wear," she'd reiterated.
Despite that style glitch, Pee Cee did look her gorgeous self in an asymmetrical, grey skirt paired with a black, fringed top. Her most favourite plum lipstick sealed the deal. But drop that fur, Pee Cee, even if it's faux. Please.
