Cyrus Broacha promised a no-holds barred version of himself in his podcast show at MI. And... he delivered Image: Shivanjana Nigam
Day 2 of IIT Bombay's cultural fest is all the right kinds of controversial — mainly because Cyrus Broacha has joined the 'party', and also got to talking about it. The comic genius recorded an episode of his podcast at the fest, which is also the biggest Asian college fest. "The sex ratio is so bad at IIT that they don't let their mothers visit here," says Broacha. Aaand.... the party has started.
The Mood Indigo edition of Broacha's podcast, which was held at the Powai campus of IIT Bombay, was all about choosing the right party. No, not the right house party for your New Year's bash — the right political party. Broacha even got two spokespersons from Opposition parties - BJP and Congress. And... you get where this is going.
BJP spokesperson, Shazia Ilmi and Congress spokesperson, Sanjay Jha were the two people joining Broacha for the live recording of his podcast. "Indian politics has never been better as a theatre of absurd," said Jha - and we've nothing to contribute to this train of thought.
While the event was a fest of sarcastic barbs and had a rule of not mentioning Arnab Goswami, here are some of our fave comebacks served by all three of them, on some timely issues:
Jha: This is a government that wants to obliterate one of the most respected prime minister, Jawahar Lal Nehru. But ladies and gentlemen, Nehru founded IIT.
Cyrus: That's not true, he was actually looking for the airport
Cyrus: How many Congress people address invited to the Virat and Anushka wedding?"
Jha: "I was here and Mr Gandhi (Rahul) was in his office."
Cyrus: "Where's his office?"
