Monsoon magic: Here's what Mumbai restaurants got especially for you this rainy season

Special food menus are raining, and we're not complaining

Pitter patter raindrop, nom-nom munch pop. What? We tried to make it rhyme but we got sumptuous food in the mouth. So, make do with this. *sticks out tongue*

With the rains being equal parts romantic and equal parts menace, we can't help but turn to what makes us happy. No points for guessing that it's FOOODD!

And monsoon also brings in an array of delish food. So we did some digging and have curated what's special on the monsoon menu at Mumbai's favourite restaurants. We bet you will be sitting in your drool-pool by the end of it. Dig in!

Kangan

There's a Kebab Food Festival at Kangan, The Westin Mumbai Garden City. If kebabs are your thing, then they got mouthwatering kebabs just for you. There's a lip-smacking range of vegetarian combinations from the juicy Kerry Paneer, Karare Tandoori Phool, Gilafi aloo, Bhuney paneer ka tikka and Dhingri Bhara Kebab among other tasteful delicacies. 

Non-vegetarians friends can relish the most distinctive tasting kebabs credited to the usage of Indian spices in exquisite combinations such as Kesari Murgh Tikka, Kalmi Kebab, Gosht Chapli.

The festival is kick-starting from July 27 and will last till August 5 from 7pm to 12am. The veg platter start at Rs 1, 500 and the non-veg one starts at Rs 1,800.

They have a special menu that has it all – soups, appetizers and drinks, of course. You can slurp on comforting soups like smoked bell pepper soup or the chicken noodle soup. And pair your beers and cocktails with old-school favourites such as sweet corn in chipotle sauce, cottage cheese jalapeno balls and jacket potatoes with cheese. 

Oh, and meat lovers can gorge on Yin & Yang chicken, prawn tacos or Bombay duck fry. And they also have the monsoon staple cheese Maggi and cheese & chicken Maggi, too.

The whole menu is available till monsoon lasts. Which is a loonggg way to go, still.

July 11 onwards, 145 Kalaghoda and Bandra outlets have some refreshing range of appetizers, hot chocolate and desserts to help you beat the monsoon blues. There's Kullad corn topped with melted butter and chilli, piping hot Maggie done in any way you want with options like fried egg, and palak pakodas along with masala chai.

Their desserts menu has an assorted cookie platter, red velvet biscuit bun stuffed with Nutella, Nutella Hot Cocoa Float, and Nutella Cappuccino. Ooooo!

Hakkasan

Curated by Chef Raymond, this place has a new bespoke six-course Hakka Monsoon Lunch menu every day featuring wholesome soups, steaming dim sums, wok dishes, and more along with tea. Soups available are black pepper meu soup, hot and sour soup, and sweet corn soup. Next, you can have freshly tossed Hakkasan signature vegetarian duck and cress salad with pomelo, onion and shallots.

The third course brims with Hakkasan’s signature piping hot dim sum like carrot cake, grilled Shanghai dumpling, Edamame truffle dumpling , Har Gao, Chicken shu mai, and more. Following that would be the chef's wok dish of the day, such as stir fry broccoli with burnt garlic, vegetarian chicken with sugar snap, stir-fry chicken in Szechuan peppercorn, steamed Indian salmon in Homemade chilli sauce, et al. You can choose noodle or rice dishes like spicy vegetarian fried rice, Hakka hand pulled noodles, vegetarian mee goreng noodles.

And for sweet endings, they have a selection of sorbets or you can opt for — a Chef recommended dessert of the day such as the Dark chocolate mousse or Coconut sago semifreddo. There are soothing cups of bespoke teas like Strawberry & Champagne, Ice Wine or the Irish Cream as part of the menu, too.

The menu is available Monday to Saturday and the pocket pinch is just Rs 850 per person

The Beer Cafe

Bringing you a deliciously curated menu especially for monsoon is The Beer Cafe. They got masala Papadum, chana chaat, kanda bhajiya, crispy chilli Veggies, chilli cheese bites, and paneer pakoda for the veg lovers. 

Non-vegetarians can gorge on baida paav, Chicken Lollipop, Chicken tikka paav, murg pakora, fish Koliwada, rawa fish fry, and Chatpata Prawns.

And, of course, their in-house beer and drinks are there, too.

Second Nature at The Flea Bazaar Café

For your 'juicy' delights, The Flea Bazaar Café brings you something fresh. Second Nature brings you Cold Extracted Fruit and Veggie Juices and Nut Milks Brand. For those looking to go healthy, they can opt for cold press juice options like pomegranate, beetroot-pomegranate-apple, guava-agave-chilli, pineapple-mint-salt & spinach-celery-orange-ginger to name a few. 

For dairy free nut milk options, people can choose options such as almond cocoa dates, hazelnut coffee dates, mango almond smoothie and strawberry banana almond grape smoothie, too.
