Remember when Kanye West used to make headlines for his music? Cuz it was good? Yeah, good times. He is still in the news, though, but for a multitude of other Kanye-esque things.

For instance, the rapper just spent an outrageous amount of money to buy a photo of Whitney Houston's drug-strewn bathroom to use it as album cover art.

You say that's crazy. We say it's Kanye.

The rapper, who has been in the headlines for his controversial moves, be it supporting Donald Trump or suggesting that slavery was a choice, spent $85,000 (approx Rs 57.5 lakh) to acquire the 2006 photograph.

It has been unveiled as the cover of Pusha T's album Daytona, which Kanye has produced.

The photo was taken in Whitney's Atlanta home in 2006 after she had went on an alleged drug binge. The bathroom in the picture is messed up and features drugs, waste papers, boxes and other paraphernalia.

The photo was reportedly taken secretly by one of Whitney's family members in 2006, and it ran in the National Enquirer the same year. The iconic Whitney Houston struggled with drug addiction and died of accidental drowning in a hotel bathtub in February 2012.

In an interview to The Angie Martinez Show, Pusha said the cover art was a last-minute change by Kanye. "He changed my artwork last night at 1am. He wasn’t feeling it," said the rapper.

"The original artwork — it was pictures that we all agreed on. He picked the photographer, I took these pictures, I was like, ‘Yo, these are fresh.’ I picked all of these pictures out, he had a little edit to it, how he wanted the actual grading of the picture to look. Picked the picture, great, we look, boom, boom, boom, it’s good," he added.

"I feel like the cover represents an organised chaos. The energy of the album is a bit chaotic, but it's all in place. Looking at that cover, I'm sure whoever frequents that bathroom or area knew whatever they wanted to find and knew where it was," added the rapper, whose new album is receiving good reviews.

Tweeple, on the other hand, are on the fence about this Kanye move.
