Give Bey and Jay a rest and look homeward because the indie scene in the country is lit right now. A number of Indian independent bands have released brand new music this month, and we have all the details.

Arunachal Pradesh-based metal band Sacred Secrecy, indie band The Local Train, and a number of other bands all have new music out. Have a look.

Divergence by Pandora's Box

Hyderabad-based five-member prog metal band Pandora's Box has just released their debut EP, Divergence. The band started out as a cover band in 2010 but soon became a hit in the live music scene. The album has been inspired by prog giants such as Opeth, Porcupine Tree, Contortionist, Dream Theater and Tesseract and captures the band's journey.

"We do not want to conform to the conventional formula of churning out tracks. The progressive scene is quite saturated, and we’re looking at bringing unique sounds and a fresh spin to progressive metal. That’s possible because we approach our music without any preconceived musical agendas. We write whatever flows through our minds. You’ll find bits of Carnatic, Jazz, ambient and symphonic music laced along with our heavier sections,” says founding member and electric guitarist Timothy Alan Paul, in the band's Facebook bio.

The Local Train

One of the most successful Hindi rock bands, The Local Train, just released a new number from their album Vaaqif, titled Aakhri Salaam. The New Delhi-based band performed their first-ever school gig in Kolkata and concluded a six-city tour this month.

Bedroom Stories by Mozzey

Kohima-based music producer Vitz Zhimo aka Mozzey just released his debut EP, titled Bedroom Stories, featuring a number of international collaborators such as New York-based artistes Tiger Darrow and Rochee.

"I’m beyond ecstatic to announce Bedroom Stories is out now. I’ve been working on this for the past year and it’s been the most challenging and inspiring thing I’ve ever done in my life. I Hope you all love it as much as I do," Mozzey writes on Soundcloud about the four-track EP.

Kingdom Come by Falcun

If you're a fan of Kolkata-based heavy metal band Falcun, you're in luck. The four-member band just released their debut full-length album, Kingdom Come. You can also buy Kingdom Come limited edition T-shirts. Just check out their Facebook page.

"The steel-hearted quintet is now offering their debut album Kingdom Come to all the heavy metal enthusiasts around the world. The nine anthems of the album individually uphold every hallmark of a classic heavy metal number. There are abundances of stellar solos, razor shaped riffs, and diversified and exhilarating vocals," the band writes on its Bandcamp page about the nine-track album.
