Parents leave no stone unturned when it comes to their child's education. Be it school or college, parents always want their child to graduate from the best institutions. But what if the child fails to match up to their expectations?
Twenty-four-year-old Hanss Mujica's parents believe that 'the greatest gift you can ever gift your parents, is the gift of education.' But Hanss floundered in this mission.
Six years ago, he performed terribly in his university exams and was suspended. His suspension left his parents devastated. Their saddened faces sent chills down his spine. And ever since, he decided he wouldn't do anything that would bring tears to his parents' eyes.
Devastated by their reaction, Hanss took it upon himself to sponsor his own education. He repeated the year. Meanwhile, his parents had lost all hope. Since he was suspended, the university cancelled his federal aid. He applied for an educational loan, but he failed to pay the loan back as he was done with his pocket money.
He had to discontinue his education in the fall of 2015. After this, he started working at a bank upstate. Soon, he left the job there and joined a scaffolding company. Working at a scaffolding firm wasn't easy, but he had no choice. By the Fall of 2016, he was able to repay his loans and he resumed his studies.
Hanss took to Facebook to share his story.
"They've always said that the greatest gift you can ever gift your parents, is the gift of education. I've planned for this moment for so long and it finally came. A few years ago, I was suspended from the university. Yes. I'm not afraid to admit it. The look on my parents face of disappointment was truly unbearable. I told myself that day that I would never do anything to ever disappoint them again. Here we are a few years later... planning a surprise photoshoot for my parents. They thought it was a family shoot for a project... little did they know it was my graduation announcement. Inside the envelope laid the two invitation tickets for my graduation. "Por ustedes empecé, por ustedes acabe..." ❤️ Gracias mamá y papá!" Hans wrote on Facebook.
Here's a glimpse of the heart-touching moment.
Now isn't the story inspiring?
