Barbie is headed this way, and you must pay attention to the suitcase she packed for her desi vacay, because it is lit. The latest addition to the Barbie collectible series is the Colours of India line inspired by six cultural aspects and landmark sites of the country. In line with the theme of Barbie travelling across India, the pack also contains a mini DIY kit where you can make a paper suitcase for the doll. How cute is that?

In the Colours of India series, the dolls display traditional elements of architecture and design elements of monuments. For instance, you can find the jharokas of Hawa Mahal from Jaipur, the mystical paintings from Ajanta Caves (Maharashtra), the opulent courtyards of Mysore Palace, the grand arches of South Indian heritage palaces, Thirumallai Nayakkar Mahal in Madurai, the vibrant colours from Sikkim's gompas and the striking sheen of marbles from Taj Mahal.

Speaking about Colours of India, Lokesh Kataria, Mattel's head of marketing, says, "By bringing a unique concept of Barbie visiting India, we intend to generate curiosity amongst young girls and inculcate in them the rich treasures of Indian heritage through meaningful play."

If you are wondering how Barbie has dolled up for her Indian journey, take a look at her itinerary and Indian wardobe.
