Ariana Grande is singing God is a Woman in her new album. We couldn't agree more Image: TWITTER
Could Ariana Grande's new track be the next anthem for feminists across the world? Well, the pop star thinks so. In a recent tweet to her fans, Ari wrote a heart-felt post, and officially announced the release of her new track God is a Woman.
Ariana's new song is a powerful presentation of religion and feminist imagery blended with elements of space and earth, and questions the existence of the popular notion of a male God. A very interesting interpretation of a "woman cave" and replacing mansplaining with a female perspective is noteworthy.
The singer dropped a very strong hint about the theme of the new music video with a message addressing her female fans. She wrote, "To my fellow goddesses who work their asses off every day to 'break the glass ceiling', this is for you. I respect you and am endlessly inspired by you. Please continue to fuck it up, to be yourself unapologetically and always know how celebrated you are. hope this can be ya anthem (SIC)."
In less than 24 hours of its release, Ari's new music video went viral on various social platforms and her fans have now started referring to her as "goddess".
In the music video, Ariana can be seen channeling her inner diva as she transports herself into a different cosmos with a striking re-imagination of Michelangelo's Creation of Adam, and Auguste Rodin's famous sculpture, The Thinker.
