Anavila shares a teaser to her new collection
Think Autumn/Winter style and you think layering, jackets, capes and stoles. But let’s be realistic. Off the ramp, half of those outfits aren’t wearable in 28-degree Celsius autumn in your city. Which is why Anavila’s case for sarees seem so tempting for barely-there winters in our country. At this season’s Lakme Fashion Week, the designer is all set to close ‘Sustainable Fashion Day’ with her unique collection Blur that explores black in a whole new light.
Anavila just dropped a sketch from her new line and it gives us an apt tease into what’s to come. Known for understated designs in subtle shades, Anavila makes a bold move with the focus on black for the very first time.
In design, black represents a unique form and exudes a sense of crisp formality. Anavila is deeply aware of that, and wants to ensure that her sarees speak of that formality. And so, Blur re-examine black with a refreshed approach and blur its stark intensity.
Her show is slated for August 17, 9:30 pm, at St Regis, Mumbai.
