The much-awaited documentary on the late pop icon George Michael, titled Freedom, will open with a cover of his hit number Fast Love, sung by none other than Adele. Turns out the Rolling in the Deep singer is a huge Michael fan, and has already recorded the track. She also sung this number when she paid tribute to the late icon at this year's Grammys.
"Adele did not feature in the docu until a very late stage. But George's best friend David Austin, who was making the film with him, asked her if she would be involved and she said yes straight away," a source told thesun.co.uk.
George passed away at 53 last Christmas, and he was working on the documentary when he died. Names like Coldplay and supermodels Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss will also be a part of the movie.
"Adele is a massive Michael fan and wanted to make sure her tribute was perfect. The result was incredible and will be aired during the opening credits," added the source.Interestingly, Adele has credited Michael as "one of the truest icons", and said that he had inspired her since she was 10.
