Kamal Haasan on Tuesday unveiled the first look poster of his long-delayed Vishwaroopam 2. However, there's still no release date for the long-awaited film and the poster only reads "targeted 2017release".

Haasan tweeted the poster with the caption, "With love my country and it's people."

The movie, to be titled Vishwaroop 2 in Hindi, is the sequel to Haasan's 2013 release Vishwaroopam, which was in the centre of a massive controversy back in the day owing to various reasons. The movie was finally released after extended delays and was an instant box office hit.

Similarly, Vishwaroopam 2 has faced its fair share of problems in the production stage and uncertainty loomed over the eventual release of the film. However, last month, Haasan confirmed that the project has been revived.

Also starring Pooja Kumar, Andrea Jeremiah, Rahul Bose and Shekhar Kapur, the film will explore the mother-son relationship between Haasan and Waheeda Rehman, who has played a pivotal role in the movie.

The film, which will feature music composed by Ghibran, was simultaneously shot in Tamil and Hindi. It has also been dubbed in Telugu.

Haasan plays a spy in the film, which he has co-written with Atul Tiwari.
