She was offered the role of Hrithik Roshan's mother in Agneepath, and felt her talents were misused in Sarbjit.

And, hence, Richa Chadha is keeping it real about what goes into choosing the right role. If you want to make it in the industry, her words will only help you.

"People mostly think about a character where they will get to look good, two song-dance sequences for visibility... but that is not how it works. I think it is the responsibility of an actor to add value and meaning to the character that is written in the script," Richa told a news agency.

The Fukrey actor feels that an actor should play with the script and try to bring layers to the character they choose to play.

"We bring life to the characters through our performance. So I could be playing anything -- whether a cameo or the main lead -- but as an actor I will create an impact on the narration. We all get a script to perform, what makes the difference is how we utilise the opportunity to excel," she said.

She admits that playing a mother of an older man in Gangs of Wasseypur 2, when she was just 24, was risky. "There are people who thought that I am much older than what my actual age was. But people also understood my calibre as an actor," added Richa, who has never really shied away from experimenting.

Maybe that's also the reason why a number of odd roles came to the 31-year-old actor. She was straight up offered to play Hrithik's mother in Agneepath. "I think that was a really stupid idea of the person who offered me that role. I think he was smoking something wrong,” Richa signed off.
