Talk about method acting. For one of the most-awaited biopics releasing this year, the Sanjay Dutt biopic helmed by Rajkumar Hirani, Ranbir Kapoor is leaving no stone unturned to get into the skin of the character. RK, who will be playing the lead role, has not only beefed up and grown his hair to look like Dutt, but is also using Sanju baba's favourite fragrances to get the feel of his character. Impressive, right?
A source close to the 34-year-old actor says, “When Ranbir wants to get into ‘the zone’, he also uses the perfumes that Dutt used at different times of his life, it helps him better identify with the character.”
Apart from working on his body to match the different phases in Sanjay's life, Ranbir is also reported to have spent quite a lot of time with the Khalnayak, in order to observe his mannerisms and that quintessential Sanju baba swag.
Earlier reports had suggested that RK would also get inked to step into the shoes of Dutt. Ranbir was reportedly planning to sport exactly the same tattoos that Dutt has on various parts of his body.
Ranbir also engaged the help of southern hot bod Rana Daggubati to beef up for the biopic. Rana introduced RK to his Hyderabad-based trainer Kunal Gir to get the look right. And Kunal put Ranbir on a vegetable diet plan, a total change from his completely meat-based diet.
Well, hard work does pay off and we can't wait to see Ranbir's transformation on screen.
The yet-untitled movie will trace Sanjay’s life from his youth and entry into films right up to his release from Yerwada prison. From the muscles, the hair, to even the scent of the man -— seems like Ranbir is all set to bowl over the masses and critics alike.
