Priyanka Chopra might have spoken up about the cases of sexual harassment that has taken Hollywood by storm in recent times, but she never opened up about any personal experience. Now, in a shocking revelation of sorts, her mum Madhu Chopra has said that her daughter, too, had her share of harassment when she entered showbiz as a teenager.

In an interview to Deccan Chronicle, Madhu narrated two instances that her daughter faced and fought. “She was just 17 when she entered the industry, so I accompanied her every minute of the day till about three years ago. So a gentleman meets her and says, ‘Will your mother sit outside while I narrate the story to you?’ Priyanka told him, ‘If it is a story that my mother can’t hear, then it is a story that I cannot do'," the Quantico actor's mom was quoted as saying.

Priyanka apparently walked out of that project, which her mother says was a "prestigious one".

Madhu further recalled that her daughter, a former Miss World, had rejected as many as 10 films because she was asked to "compromise". Narrating another incident, Madhu said since she entered Bollywood from a modeling platform, people tried to take advantage of her.

“Another time, a designer told her that the director’s brief was to dress her in itsy-bitsy clothes. The director had said, ‘What is the point of having a Miss World in front of the camera if we cannot show her as her beautiful self?’"

Priyanka refused that film, too, eventually, says Madhu.
