Parineeti Chopra set tongues wagging recently with her sleeker and fitter avatar in Dishooms's special track Jaaneman Aah. The actor had taken up the Built That Way fitness programme last year, and thanks to that, she managed to lose oodles of weight that made her look sexier than ever before. Recently, however, the actor was in for a rude shock when some promotional websites ran stories claiming that the secret behind her weight loss was neither workout nor dietary restrictions but a magic pill. The sites even went ahead and quoted the Ishaqzaade actor as saying, "... a friend, who's also a nutritionist, introduced me to a new supplement that uses a fruit extract... It sounded too good to be true, but I was willing to try anything at this point... Nothing seemed to work for me until I tried these ... pills... They really should call them life savers!"

Parineeti's drastic weight loss has been an inspiration to many, so naturally it came as a shocker for us, too. T2 Online reached out to the actor and her team, who cleared our doubt.

"This is completely false. Parineeti had never opted for any such pill to shed weight. Her weight loss is a result of tedious workout sessions," said the actor's spokesperson.

Parineeti's killer workout photos from the gym had gone viral earlier this year. In May, she shared a candid post on Instagram, thanking the "Bollywood pressure" that forced her to lose weight and get fitter. She also wrote that post her weight loss, many consider her as their inspiration to a healthy life.

But looks like some people want to latch on to her success by belittling her days and nights of hard work at the gym. The actor and her team aren't going to take all this lying down. "We are aware of these websites propagating such false stories. We've already reported this matter, and we are taking legal action against them," said her spokesperson, adding, "There is no magic pill to weight loss. It requires a lot of hard work and determination to lose weight. It's not so easy."

Parineeti is currently shooting for her next release, Meri Pyaari Bindu, alongside Ayushmann Khurrana.
