When Amazon Prime Videos have partnered with Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidwani's Excel Entertainment, could Netflix be far behind? Absolutely not. And looks like they've hit the jackpot with Saif Ali Khan as the leading man in their first original Indian series, Sacred Games. While Netflix had announced that they are planning to enter the Indian market in a big way with original shows back in June last year, Saif and Phantom Film's association with them was only announced recently on Twitter with a first look of the show.

In an earlier interview, Erik Barmack, vice president of international original series at Netflix had revealed how happy they are with this tie up and gave us an idea of what to expect from the show too. “We are delighted to partner with creative powerhouse, Phantom Films, to bring Vikram Chandra’s epic novel to life with the best Indian and global film talent available today. Sacred Games reinforces our commitment to bring the authenticity of local stories to Netflix members across 190 countries worldwide,” he was quoted saying.
While we're excited to see Saif in this new avatar, and in an original series, something no other A-lister has done so far, we wonder what they're going to do about the Kareena tattoo on Saif's left forearm. We just hope it is hidden better in the actual show than it was in the first look.
