(L-R) Ajinkya Rahane, Virat Kohli, Abhishek Bachchan, Arjun Kapoor announce Celebrity Classico 2016 Solaris
At a press meet to annouce a celebrity football match fundraiser, Virat Kohli found unlikely allies in Abhishek Bahchan and Arjun Kapoor. In case you were living under a rock, Virushka are back together, pictures say so. (See: Virat Kohli-Anushka Sharma, are you still 'just' friends?) But any questions roving around her coming Virat's way were strictly off the menu at the event. Playing protective were Arjun and Abhishek, who came to Kohli's aid when the media tried probing him about Anushka.
"Let’s keep it decent and answer football related questions only,” a staid Abhishek said.
When someone asked Virat about his reaction to the Sultan trailer, Arjun interrupted, saying, “You have already asked one question, now let someone else ask."
The football match will be payed to raise funds to help children in drought-hit villages in Maharashtra. Virat said, “The whole idea was to raise funds and to help the underprivileged ones. This time, it is for a bigger cause. It's nice to come together for a good cause. And involving a little bit of sport is a bonus because it gives some sort of motivation to win. You'll be surprised the way cricketers play football."
Abhishek, who represented the Bollywood-dominated team, found it to be an honour to sit beside Virat. He even congratulated the “true gentleman” on his victories at IPL this season.
The football match, for which Virat Kohli Foundation and Abhishek's Playing for Humanity have joined hands, Celebrity Clasico 2016, will take place at the Mumbai Football Arena on Saturday, June 4.
