Vicky Kaushal is all praises for KJo Image: Facebook/ Vicky Kaushal
Karan Johar loves his star kids. From 'Students' Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan to Dhadak kids Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter, they all owe a lot to KJo. But being a daddy to the Bolly kids comes at a price — we recall a comment made by a certain Kangana Ranaut which rocked the entire industry and gave it the dreaded n-word. We mean nepotism, of course.
But here's one newbie, who is not a star kid, but got the much-awaited call from KJo. Vicky Kaushal, who is literally going places with his Bolly career, from the big screen to Netflix, has a story to tell.
"I got a call from Karan, who wanted me to meet Meghna Gulzar as he thought I’d be apt for the part (in Raazi)," the Raman Raghav 2.0 actor told Mumbai Mirror. Vicky, who is the son of action director Sham Kaushal, struck it big with the 2015 indie drama Masaan, and is now on his way to some mainstream success.

In Raazi, Vicky plays an army officer. The KJo production is based on Harinder Sikka’s book Calling Sehmat. The film also stars Alia Bhatt, who plays a Kashmiri spy. Raazi is not the only KJo film that stars Vicky. The Masaan actor will also star in Bombay Talkies 2.
A source, closely working on Bombay Talkies 2, told T2 Online, "Karan approached Vicky after seeing the rushes of Raazi, and Vicky was selected to play the main lead after a screen test."
On this note, full marks to KJo for giving value to true talent.
