Turns out Mr Perfectionist isn't as severe when it comes to playing dad and might just be B-town's original daddy cool. Aamir Khan says he is not a strict father but a rather indulgent one in real life, unlike his character in the upcoming film Dangal.
When asked what kind of a parent he is in real life, Aamir said, " In real life I'm an indulgent father. I am not strict...Even Kiran is not strict...I don't think we are too soft but we let our children do whatever they want. We don't want our kids to turn out spoilt, but we aren't hard, harsh or strict."
"When we need to instil discipline, we do that with love. You don't have to shout at a child for that," the 51-year-old actor adds.
Aamir, who has three children named Junaid (22), Ira (19) and Azad (5), plays a rigid, disciplinarian dad to his wrestler girls Geeta and Babita (played by Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra) in the upcoming drama Dangal. But seems like, in real life, Mr Perefectionist isn't haanikarak to his kiddos.
In the biopic, Aamir will play Mahavir Singh Phogat, father of wrestler Geeta Phogat, who won India's first ever gold medal in wrestling at the Commonwealth Games in 2010.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the sports drama also stars Sakshi Tanwar and is set to release on December 23.
