It is the end of an era — and only a party this lit can usher it in. Game of Thrones has officially wrapped up filming its eighth and final season, and the cast and crew partied big in Belfast.
The farewell bash saw Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), Jon Snow (Kit Harington), Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen), Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead-Wright, Iain Glen (Jorah Mormont), Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner), and the creators of the show, David Benioff and DB Weiss, come together to have a good time.
Oh, the party also saw a live performance by Irish rock band Snow Patrol and some stellar DJ-ing by King in the North aka Harington.
Earlier this week, Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark, admitted something that should make any GoT fan very nervous. Apparently, Season 8 of the fantasy drama will have more deaths than usual, and will also be more emotionally demanding. Yay?!
"It’s Game of Thrones, so it’s going to be bloodier and more death and more emotionally torturous than all the years before... Everyone is coming together to fight the impending doom. There’s a lot of tension between these little groups, battling for what they think is right," she told Gold Derby.
But for now, you can put off the tension till 2019, when Season 8 airs, and just let your hair down, like the GoT stars did. For instance, have you seen the shade-king Euron Greyjoy (Pilou Asbæk) keeping it chill in short and a summer blazer? Or Shireen Baratheon (Kerry Ingram) on the dance floor?
Fifty Shades of Grey star Jamie Dornan also joined the party, and GoT creators Benioff and Weiss took to the stage for a speech.
