Manoj Bajpayee, the actor known for his power-packed peformances, let us in on a lesser known fact — Shah Rukh Khan and he are childhood friends. Shah Rukh and Bajpayee both come from Delhi. While Manoj graduated from Ramjas College, SRK studied in Hansraj College. The two also started their acting career in the theatre circuit of the national capital. “Shah Rukh is a friend. We know each other since childhood. We worked together (in Veer Zaara ) for only two days, but I enjoyed working with him," says Bajpayee. He responded to a recent statement made by King Khan, who wished him luck for his upcoming film Traffic. Shah Rukh, in fact, made a quick appearance at a recent promotional event of Traffic.
Bajpayee thanked SRK on Twitter for dropping by and SRK tweeted him back.
Was so happy to see you my man. https://t.co/RAiGDHtHHr— Shah Rukh Khan (@iamsrk) April 26, 2016
Talking about Traffic, where he plays the lead role of a traffic constable, Bajpayee said the film’s script and narration impressed him enough to sign up for the part. “I am into the business of storytelling and giving good performances. If I had given the opportunity of this role to another actor, I would feel very bad after the release of the film,” he said. "I had the choice to do something else or be a part of such a fantastic film. Even though I don’t have dialogues in the film, people are talking about the character and I am very happy about it.”
A remake of a Malayalam film by the same name, Traffic boasts of a stellar cast of performing actors, including Divya Dutta, Parambrata Chatterjee, Sachin Khedekar and Jimmy Shergill.
