Alia Bhatt has proved that she is quite woke when it comes to saving our planet. Not only has she decided to completely ban plastic from her life but she is also asking her celebrity friends to join the bandwagon.

The young icon, who wowed the audience and critics yet again with her latest release Raazi, has made a conscious choice to do her bit to curb pollution by banning plastic products as much as possible. She recently took to Twitter and asked her fans to give up on plastic and switch to steel or glass.

She wrote, “#BeatPlasticPollution by switching to steel or glass bottles today! Plastic bottles take 450 years or more to decompose, harming us and our environment. I’m now one step closer towards purging plastic from my life. Hope you guys will make the switch too!”

Later, she tagged her other actor friends Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor to take up the challenge.

And Arjun responded to Alia's challenge in no time with this picture.

Looks like the young Bollywood brigade has taken the environmental cause really seriously this summer, and if you feel for the cause as well, then follow their footsteps and say no to plastic.
