All of Padman's superpowers are finally being put to good use. Akshay Kumar just inaugurated the first of 100 sanitary pad vending machines in Mumbai, along with Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray.

"Placed a sanitary pad vending machine at Mumbai Central ST Bus Depot today, hoping to place more across the State and eventually hopefully the whole country. Thank you @AUThackeray for your support 🙏🏻," Akki wrote on Twitter with a picture of the set-up.

Aaditya was quick to respond, wishing Akki and his team all the best. "Should cross the 100 mark soon! Thank you @akshaykumar ji for always being an inspiration to do good! 🙏🏻", he wrote.

After months of promotions and weeks of the Padman challenge on social media, trying to eliminate the taboo around menstruation, which, TBH, was starting to seem like a publicity gimmick, Akshay's move to actually make a difference has won hearts all over.

If it's not asking for too much, may we request Padman to spread his wings and convince the powers that be to make sanitary pads tax-free? Amen.
