After killing it as Bhallaldev in the Baahubali films, Rana Daggubati is all ready to don a new avatar in his upcoming film Welcome to New York. The actor will now dabble in comedy. Yes, rather than scaring the hell out of you, Rana will be tickling your funny bone this time around.

According to a Hindustan Times report, when asked about Rana's character in the film, director Chakri Toleti said that even though he is known for his action-packed roles, the Baahubali actor does comedy effortlessly.

"You think of Rana Daggubati and the first thing that comes to the mind is action. But when you see him doing comedy with such ease, you know that you have a fine performer in front of the camera," Toleti was quoted in the report.

Rana's scene in the trailer with Karan Johar has also been quite appreciated. After seeing him in grungy, intense roles, it will be interesting indeed to see Rana unveil a different side of his in front of the camera.

The film, also starring Sonakshi Sinha, KJo, Diljit Dosanjh, Riteish Deshmukh, among others will hit the big screens on February 23.
